School Supports

As children grow, so do their educational needs — and at ChildVision, we provide a range of supports to ensure that children and young people with visual impairment, including those with additional or complex support needs, continue to thrive in school.

Some children remain in our Early Years programme until age six, while others transition earlier to:

  • Mainstream primary schools, or
  • Our on-campus school, St. Joseph’s Primary School for Children with Visual Impairment

All students at St. Joseph’s have a visual impairment, and many have additional needs. For families living in the Greater Dublin area, a dedicated bus service is available to assist with school transport.

Clinical & Therapeutic Supports

Every student receives access to a range of specialist services based on individual needs, which may include:

  • Speech and Language Therapy (SLT)
  • Occupational Therapy (OT)
  • Physiotherapy
  • Equine-Assisted Activities
  • On-site Nursing care

These supports are fully integrated into each student’s education plan to ensure their health, wellbeing, and learning journey are supported every step of the way.

Second Level Supports

Young people can attend nearby post-primary schools such as:

  • Pobalscoil Rosmini (adjacent to our campus), or
  • Other local second level schools

Some students from across the country also join us as residential students, either for the full duration of their second level education or during key periods such as the Leaving Certificate years.
